International gateway

Rotterdam is centrally located and is therefore the perfect base to discover more of the Netherlands. The renewed Central Station welcomes around 110,000 travelers every day, which makes it Rotterdam’s international gateway.

By train from Rotterdam you can be in Amsterdam in 40 minutes, and within a half-hour in major cities like The Hague and Utrecht. The Netherlands’ oldest city, Dordrecht, is just 15 minutes by train from Rotterdam Central Station. But you can also take the river bus from the Erasmus Bridge to Dordrecht. This will also bring you to the tourist attraction of Kinderdijk. Would you rather go international? In an hour, you can travel by train to the Belgian city of Antwerp!

The port

Rotterdam is inextricably linked to the River Maas. The city has the largest seaport in Europe, and is therefore known as a port city. The harbor is Rotterdam’s pride and joy and, of course, it is best discovered from the water. For instance, you can take a water taxi or go for a boat trip on the Spido. In 75 minutes, you get a great impression of Rotterdam’s container ports.
